Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Ensures Employee Safety and Occupational Health

As part of the company's commitment to adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, Medela Potentia and its subsidiaries conducted OHS training focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

The training provided employees with the knowledge and skills needed to handle emergency situations such as respiratory and cardiac arrest, while also strengthening the implementation of OHS aspects in the workplace.

The Human Resources Director of Medela Potentia, Mrs. Nancy Kartika, emphasized the importance of all employees being prepared to face emergencies in the workplace.

"Employees can lose consciousness for various reasons, such as high blood pressure, fatigue, or heat stroke. This can happen to anyone, and employees must be aware of what actions to take. OHS is a critical aspect of work," said Mrs. Nancy.

Meanwhile, Occupational Physician from Prodia OHI, Dr. Widya Sistha Prima, MARS., explained the basic first aid concept using the DRABC method (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation) and the CPR technique for handling respiratory and cardiac arrest.

"Understanding the CPR technique is crucial because, in cases of respiratory or cardiac arrest, every second is valuable. With this skill, we can provide swift and accurate first aid until medical assistance arrives," Dr. Widya explained.

This training program adopted international guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) and was designed to provide in-depth understanding of first aid in the workplace. In addition to chest compression techniques, participants were introduced to the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) as part of cardiac arrest management.

All employees who completed the training received official certification from PT Prodia OHI, recognizing their competence in providing first aid.
